Kristen's CF journey

Thanksgiving

Eric here, Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Wishing you all the best.  Kristen, Hattie, myself, and my mom all made it to Denver! We left Redmond on Sunday and got  into town on Tuesday afternoon.  Hattie was such a trouper.  Taking a 2yr old on a three day road trip could rough but she did awesome.   Thanks again to Leslie and Al for letting us use the Tahoe to drive out here.  Having the bigger, more comfortable car made the trip so much more pleasant.  We got into our Airbnb house with no issues and will be here for the next month or so.   On Wednesday I took Kristen to get admitted to the hospital, which is about a mile or so down the road. It is so nice to be really close to where Kristen is. We are able to all be here together because of everyone's generosity, without the fundraising I don't know how we could do this. THANK YOU ALL!!!!
Our new treatment facility is, well, eye opening.  I am optimistic that these folks will be able to get us some answers and/or solutions to some long term issues with Kristens health.  The differences here in regards to  patient care are to numerous to bore you all with. It is a lot to get used to, in a good way.   Kristen has met with some of doctors, some orders are in, prelim tests have been done.  Kristen gets to keep her current line in for IV access so one less thing to deal with there.  She will be easing into antibiotic treatments over next few days. Her breathing treatments are scheduled 4 times a day.  The doctors will be trying to finally get to the bottom of Kristen's stomach issues while she is here.  Is it truly gastroparesis or is it something else going on in her upper GI system?   That means more tests to determine truly what is going on in her gut. We will keep you posted.
Not having answers to your medical problems can be frustrating to put it mildly.  Finally getting the true answers to your questions can be a relief.  However, the answers you get are not always what you want to hear.  With that being said I would ask to keep Kristen in your thoughts and prayers.  As always we are hopefully optimistic, and grateful to all our family and friends for all the love and support. To you all Happy Thanksgiving, for we are truly thankful for every day.
