Well, been a while since our last post. Sorry for the delay. It's been a whirlwind these past weeks. After my mom flew back to Portland, Kelly (Kristen's sister) flew into town for a few days. It was great to have her out with us. Hattie had loads of fun with her auntie. Kelly, Hattie and myself made a trip to the Denver Zoo Lights. Hattie slept through the beginning, but after waking had a blast too. Hattie got a picture with Santa. Well, at least it went better than last year. Kelly got to visit Kristen at the Hospital of course. I think Kristen really enjoyed having her sister out there. It was really great that she could make it out. I know that with three kids and work and life happening, it's hard to get out of town at all, thanks Kelly. Paul, (Kristen's Dad) and his wife Tracey flew in for a few days. I think they spent their entire trip in the room at the hospital with Kristen. It was really great that they came out for a visit. We always enjoy seeing them, and Hattie loves Grandpa Paul and Grandma Tracey. As Paul and Tracey arrived to town so did Leslie and Al. Leslie and Al stayed at the house with Hattie and I for the remainder of our stay.
Monday December 14th Kristen was discharged from the hospital. And weather was headed in. Kristen was getting out but weather had us staying put, and Al's flight out was in two days. Wednesday we packed up the car and we dropped Al at the airport. Kristen, Hattie, Leslie and I drove back from Denver via an alternate route due to extreme weather and highway conditions in south western Wyoming. The reroute turned out to be a much enjoyed scenic adventure. We really enjoyed the tour through the mountains of Colorado and Utah. The trip took the better part of four days. We got to Redmond the weekend before Christmas. Off to Portland the following week for doctors appointment and Christmas with my family. Hattie had a great time playing with her cousins. After Christmas back to Redmond. We spent new years eve and had a late Christmas with Leslie and Al in Prineville. Al played Christmas songs on the keyboard and low and behold, Hattie is all about karaoke. It was really great to be around family after a month away from home. We are now just getting back into daily life stuff. I am back to work and Hattie is back to preschool a couple days a week. Kristen is doing much better than before we went to Denver!
