April, 7, 2015.......Eric
Yesterday, April 6th 2015, was our 10th wedding anniversary.  I took Kristen to be admitted to the hospital. She hasn't been able to stop throwing up, she is nauseous all the time. She has lost almost thirty pounds from not being able to eat over the past 10 months. She now has another lung infection, in part due to her being too sick to do her breathing treatments and to exercise which allows her to cough out the mucous that builds up in her lungs.  They (the doctors) say they think the nausea and abdominal pain, which both are unrelenting, are due to either chronic pancreatitis, diabetic gastroparesis, or even more likely both. We know her pancreas is severly damaged due to her CF, but the gastroparesis is still yet to be officially diagnosed.  If we determine that Kristen has gastroparesis, via the gastric emptying study,
maybe then we will have some options for treating her unrelenting nausea and horrible stomach and side pain. Please let there be something that we can do to get her some relief.

Kristen's quality of life right now is not good. Her symptoms are all-consuming, and we need to find a solution. She cant afford to loose any more weight, or to keep getting more and more frequent lung infections. Malnutrition and dehydration are also becoming more and more of a problem. Just trying to convince doctors that IV fluids would be a good idea is harder than we would have ever thought. Convincing someone over the phone that you have been vomiting 10 to 20 times a day and have 8-10 scale pain doesn't get answers or in to a specialist any faster. It gets you sent to the ER.

Kristen is such a complicated case, weird drug reactions, horrible viens, multiple related but kinda not related disease processes, all making getting treatment from strangers super difficult. Times are critical and answers are hard to come by.   Prior blood clots and failing venous access are continuing. And dehydration will only make venous problems more difficult.

So after b
eing married for 10 years to the love of my life, through all the obstacles CF has thrown our way, our resolve is the same. Every day is precious and we will continue to  fight, fight, fight for each and every day.

Kristen aka Grover, I'm praying that the hand of God will be present in each and everyone you and your family meet so that they will take care of you and do their best to help you. To truly listen to you!

We are asking for a miracle.
