The Burdick family separates for the weekend to divide and conquer on two different fronts. Kristen, Hattie and Kristen's mom Leslie headed to the Seattle area for medical reasons. Kristen is in real need of a specific GI doctor. We need to find a doctor with knowledge and experience in adult CF patients with serious GI related issues; specifically, pancreatic issues and gastroparesis. Someone who is willing to coordinate with her other doctors. A doctor who will advocate for her when she needs treatment for her GI related symptoms during flare ups. On a referral, the ladies headed to see a new GI doctor hoping a fresh perspective. Unfortunately, things didn't really work out with the new doctor. Proving to us once again, that finding this specialist is like looking for Elvis. Lots of Elvis's out there but not the one we are looking for. Making the trip to not get anywhere is really tough, and costly, not to mention very discouraging. Thanks to Leslie for all your help and making the trip with my girls. While the girls were on their trip, I was having a house party of sorts. A work on-the-house-party-so-we-can-move-to-Portland-and-rent-out-our-home-party. Scotty came over from the valley and spearheaded the operation. Jacob and Matt came over and helped a ton on Saturday. We got a lot accomplished over those two days. There is still a lot to finish but it was a good push in the right direction. Thanks so much to Scotty! You're the man! It was an honor to be your home repair product purchasing associate. I mostly ran back and forth to the store all weekend. Special thanks to Jen, Silas, and Quentin for letting me steal him for the weekend. Lastly much thanks to Jacob and Matt for all your hard work. I have been back to working full time. Taking time off here and there as needed. Hattie is going to a new preschool and really seems to like it a lot and so do we. Kristen has been getting IV nausea treatment as well as hydration a few times a week in Bend. We are doing a lot of driving to and from Bend because of it. On days she gets fluids her appointments can take up to three and a half hours. Thanks to everyone at the IV therapy place, you all kick butt, you advocate for Kristen, and fit her in, even last minute. Thank you, thank you! Eric
