We made it home from the hospital late Friday evening! Kristen was able to go home to finish her IV meds. Since Hattie was born, this is the first time she has been able to come home early from a hospital stay. So great to have her here with us even though she still is "hooked up" to a CADD pump. Her pump is disguised as an oh-so stylish shoulder/fannypack, which is good because one of her meds runs continuously 24hrs a day. Not having an IV pole is better too when u have a toddler in the house. I love watching Kristen and Hattie play and they can much better without the pole. She has another med that is scheduled. It is taken several times a day and requires her to wake up in the middle of the night to hook up to. Even with these things, she is able to get way more rest here than at the hospital.
Kristen was in the hospital for 9 days. While she was there, so was I. I had my little corner area with my stuff piled up, a fold out cot thing to sleep on. Meanwhile, Hattie was staying back at our house in Redmond. Leslie and Al came to stay at our house for the duration. Which was so great, Hattie was able to sleep in her own bed and we Facetimed a lot from the hospital. They also took Hattie to the High Desert Museum. Steph and Mark and their two boys had Hattie over to their house in Bend for a sleep over and fun times the next day. She enjoyed playing the boys' drum set. Then Emily and Al and their two kids took Hattie out on a fun all- day play date too. She had so much fun she fell asleep in her stroller, that never happens. We cannot thank you all enough, for the peace of mind and joy that all your help and love has brought to our family. We are so blessed to have such an amazing support system of family and friends.
